CAESAR UPDATE JULY 2011
We thank God for all the favor He has given us with Caesar over the last 7 years. God has opened doors to establish His church in Binh Chau that only He could do. To this day our Heavenly Father continues to have His hand of protection on the Binh Chau church.

Even though we had petitioned and received permission to hold the VBS this year, Caesar was suspicious that we were bringing “foreigners” with us to preach and teach in the church. A few days before the start of VBS an official of Caesar left a letter with a neighbor by the church reminding Elder Nhan that this was against their law and requesting Elder Nhan come to their office to discuss. After praying about this, Mai encouraged Elder Nhan not to respond as we had already received permission to hold VBS, and through our previous encounters with Caesar, any serious concern would have been delivered directly to Kim, the official representative of the church to Caesar.

Early on the first day of VBS an official at the province level showed up at the church. He told Mai that his office was concerned about our participation in the VBS. Mai introduced him to all of us and took him on a tour of the new kitchen. The Holy Spirit gave her wisdom and discernment in answering all his questions to his satisfaction. The official left stating the church is doing a lot of good things and we should continue with what we had planned for the VBS. Cam On Chua!

After we left Vietnam officials from the city, province, and state visited Kim at the church. They told Kim that the church was doing many good things for the community and the children. They expressed their appreciation that the church followed through with what they said they were going to do. The state official then told Kim they had made a mistake at the province level in recognizing us as a church. That they should have only recognized us as a place to gather as their law states a church has to be established for 20 years before it can be recognized as a church in Vietnam. The official then asked Kim if the church would change their sign to correct this error. Kim politely reminded them it was their mistake, and once God put that sign up, He was the only one that could take it down. The state official smiled, gave Kim his personal phone number, and told Kim to call him. Please pray that God will give Kim wisdom and discernment when she meets with this official.

We give God all the Glory for removing every obstacle in establishing His church in Binh Chau so His Word might go forth and not return void.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
