MATURING IN CHRIST
One of the joys and blessings of my recent trip to Binh Chau was to witness the growth in many of the congregation’s walk with the
They used me as their “prospect” during their EE presentations. I must admit I prayed to receive Jesus numerous times during my stay with them. They practice all the time and are very eager to share Christ with others. It was also exciting to see the growth of many of the adults to the point where God is now using them to serve in the church. The witnessing and visitation teams are very committed in going out each Friday and Saturday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Others are teaching small group or children’s Bible studies. We thank God for raising up such a faithful group.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name”. John 15:16
KITCHEN PROJECT
The construction of the kitchen has been completed (picture below). We will be able to feed up to 100 people at a time. We will put it to good use this summer during VBS. It will also serve as additional classroom space for the different age level children’s Bible studies. We can also use it as a multi-purpose room for special events such as the upcoming EE clinic in July. We thank God for
JULY EE CLINIC
Pastor Bien is now back in the USA. Pastor Bien and his wife will be visiting us in Tucson this weekend to discuss his return to Vietnam in July to hold an EE clinic at the Binh Chau church. Members of the church, plus people from 3 other churches in the area, will be trained to share their faith and to teach others to do the same. We have 10 people from the Binh Chau church who are already memorizing the EE skeleton, including the scriptures used. Please pray that God will provide the funds to hold this vital training.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14
EASTER SERVICE
The Sunday night Easter service was well attended (full church, picture below). We were told that Elder Nhan gave a powerful message led by the Holy Spirit. Many non-believers were in attendance and 6 (2 families) came forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior during the altar call.
BINH CHAU VBS 2011
Due to rising costs we will not be taking the kids to the amusement park in Saigon this year, but we have many exciting events planned for them. We have a Christian Puppet Ministry Team from Saigon (featuring life size puppets) coming to put on a show one night depicting a story from the Bible. This group will also stay and help with the VBS. We will show the “Jesus” movie on another night. We gave away 19 bicycles last year and are praying for God to provide the funds to give away 30 this year. Please pray that God will use the children who get the bikes to be strong witnesses to His love as they return home to their families and friends and may God receive all the praise, honor, and glory. We also have 6 Seminary students coming from Saigon to help teach and serve during the VBS. We thank God and each of you who have sponsored one of the 89 kids. We still need sponsors for the remaining 76 kids.
PRAYER REQUESTS
*Please pray for the VBS in June that God is already working in the hearts of non-believing kids (and their parents) to draw them to attend VBS and learn about the love Jesus has for them.
* Please pray for God’s protection on each child attending VBS that there will be no sickness or accidents.
* Please pray that “Caesar” will okay the petition for the VBS without any restrictions.
*Please pray for travel mercies for our group of 6 traveling to Binh Chau to help with the VBS.
*Please pray that God will give Elder Nhan and the other church leadership Godly wisdom in their call to serve.
* Please pray that God will use these children and raise them up as the next generation to proclaim His work.
