BINH CHAU CHURCH WOMEN’S DAY

Games on Women's Day

On March 15th the women in the church gathered for a day of worship, prayer, teaching, and games (picture to left). They started at 8am and finished around 5pm. After a time of worship, the ladies were assigned to teams. Each team picked a spokesperson to represent her group. These teams would be competing against each other throughout the day on what they learned with the winning team receiving prizes (actually, all teams did so well they all received prizes). Mai (pictured below) was asked to teach on what the Bible says about removing idols from our lives in order to serve the one true, living God and to be able to explain this to people they lead to Christ (who worship idols). Mai said it was a day of great joy, tears, and sweet fellowship among the ladies. All who attended stated they were blessed, especially Mai, as she experienced firsthand the love these ladies have for Jesus and how they are growing in their walk with Him.

KITCHEN PROJECT
The construction of the kitchen continues with the walls now up (picture below). We had a little set back as Caesar showed up to inspect the plans for the roof and said we needed more support, being it was a public building. We had 2 beams across the roof, but they wanted 4. The additional beams have been ordered, but it will take a couple of weeks to get them. A blessing is we will now

Kitchen Under Construction

be able to add a second story in the future to this building, which would lower our costs at that time. We have purchased 4 large stoves and 3 smaller stoves (all gas) for the ladies to cook with. The countertops have been purchased, but we will not be able to build the cabinets we had planned (due to such high costs). Mai said they were more expensive than here in the USA due to rising inflation in Vietnam. The women who cook are excited to be able to have a clean, sanitary kitchen to prepare the kid’s meals in. We are just as excited to be able to provide them one after seeing them labor hours upon hours in the heat preparing meals for VBS last year. We (the ladies and us) thank God for this blessing and we thank each of you who have prayed and financially contributed to this project. We know God will use it for His glory. We will also be able to use the kitchen as a classroom for the kids as some have to meet outside now (picture below). It will be much cooler for the kids (and teachers).

UPCOMING EVENTS
Plans are being made for the upcoming Easter Service on April 24th. Invitations will be printed and given to the congregation to pass out to their non-believing family, friends, and neighbors. The weekly witnessing/visitation teams will also give them out.

Pastor Bien from Evangelism Explosion has returned to the USA, but his office here is still willing to come to Binh Chau on May 10-14 to hold an EE clinic. The one stipulation is we provide 10-15 trainees who are willing to learn 70% of the EE skeleton outline by then. Mr. and Mrs. Sau Cong will attend from Suoi Bang and we may invite members of a local house church to participate with us. This clinic is truly an answer to prayer and we give God all the praise.

The 2011 Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 22-24. Dennis and Fay Peceniak, Cherée Spencer (all members of our Jesus in Vietnam Focus Team), Jordan Vargo, and Mai and I will be going to Binh Chau to help out.

Tu, the young man moving to Binh Chau to help Elder Nhan, will be preaching at the Binh Chau church on April 17th. Mai said Tu has a heart for the Lord, is outgoing, but humble, a bold evangelist, has a good relationship with Elder Nhan, and the kids love him already.

PRAYER REQUESTS
*Please pray that God will use this upcoming Easter Service to plant seeds and draw people to Him.

*Please pray that God will raise up the right people to attend the EE clinic to, not only learn how to share their faith, but to be also willing to teach others.

*Please pray for the VBS in June that God is already working in the hearts of non-believing kids (and their parents) to draw them to attend VBS and learn about the love our Lord has for them.

* Please pray there will be no more delays or additional costs to the kitchen project and it will be completed for VBS.

*Please pray that God will provide a replacement for Tu at his current church so Tu can move sooner to Binh Chau to serve in the church there.

*Please pray for safe travel for Mai as she leaves on April 20th to return to Tucson.

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you” 1 Thessalonians 3:9
