GOOD NEWS AND GREAT NEWS
The good news is construction on our 2nd orphanage/love house is now finished. Praise the Lord! Our contractor did an excellent job in connecting it to our 1st orphanage/love house so it looks like one unit. The picture to the left shows our 1st house on the right and then the 2nd one on the left. The new house has 4 bedrooms and each has its own bathroom. We also have a kitchen and small living room area. We so appreciate all your prayers and financial support over the last 4 years to fulfill the vision God gave us in order to raise more children in a Christian family environment. Please pray God will fill it with His children who will grow up to always love Him, serve Him, and have a heart to tell others about Jesus.
You’ve heard the good news, now we’ll share the great news. When Giang (the on-site construction manager) and his boss Lam (the owner of the company) came to do the final walk through and receive the final payment due, they were very complimentary how nice and peaceful it was working with the church. As we talked, God gave us the opportunity to share the Gospel with Giang and Lam. How excited we were when both Giang and Lam prayed to ask Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior. We then presented them both with a new Bible and shared what their next steps should be the grow in their walk with the Lord, including being baptized. This was Tuesday so we invited them to come to church on Sunday to be baptized. Just like the Ethiopian Eunuch said to Philip in Acts 8:36, Lam said “why can’t we be baptized right now”? We stepped into the church and baptized both Lam and Giang right then. To God be the glory! Please pray they will read their Bible to have a deeper understanding of the Father’s love for them through His Son Jesus.
“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you.” I Thessalonians 3:9 (NIV)
A FAMILY OF BELIEVERS
Many years ago, God gave Mai the privilege of leading a lady from Suoi Bang (Mrs. Muoi) to Christ. Later, Mrs. Muoi introduced us to her sister and her adult daughter. Both of them prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior too. However, we never met Mrs. Muoi’s husband (Nuagmy) as he worked for the local government and didn.t want to have anything to do with the Christian church. In fact, in the beginning Mrs. Muoi had to sneak off to church. Over time her husband started to see a difference in his wife and God softened his heart to allow her to freely attend church. We have been praying for her husband’s salvation all these years. Earlier this year he retired from his job and became more open to the church. In July he even invited the OVCN mission team to his house where they prayed for him. About 4 months ago Mrs. Muoi invited us to their house as she said her husband was ready to hear the Gospel. We shared, but he wasn’t quite ready to pray. Mai shared with him a prayer he could say anytime, anywhere asking Jesus into his heart (which he said he would). On Sunday 2 weeks ago, Mrs. Muoi shared with us her husband had prayed asking Jesus into his heart. And, he wanted to come to Wednesday Night Prayer Service to be baptized. However, when Wednesday came, no Nuagmy. Apparently, as they were getting ready to leave a friend of his came to visit (Satan never rests). But, Mrs. Muoi had shared the Gospel with her youngest son (Thuan) and daughter-in-law (Rong) and they both prayed to received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Thuan and Rong came and we had the blessing of baptizing both of them. What joy to see God working in this family to bring them one by one to Him in His perfect timing. Please pray the Holy Spirit will draw Nuagmy, Thuan, and Rong to attend church so they might be strengthened in their walk with the Lord.
HAIR SALON CONVERSION
Mai was trying hard to wait to get her hair cut when we return home in January. But, after 7 months and the hot humid weather here, Mai went to a local hair salon that Loan, our house mother, recommended to get it cut. There she met the owner and sole hair stylist Cam. As they talked during the haircut, Mai shared about the Binh Chau Church and presented the Gospel to Cam. Afterwards, they knelt right there in the hair salon as Cam prayed to ask Jesus into her heart. Mai went to get a haircut, but God had a different reason for the visit. Please pray God will put a desire in Cam’s heart to take Sunday morning off (as a lot of people here do, she works 7 days a week) to attend church to grow in her new-found faith.
TUTORING THE YOUNG
Nhu Y and An spend several nights each week tutoring the 4 youngest children in our orphanage/love house with their homework.
PRAYER REQUEST
This year we are combining our Children’s and Family Christmas Evangelical Outreaches and will have one on Christmas Eve for all. Invitations have been given out by the congregation and the children who attend our Children’s Church each Saturday have been asked to invite their classmates to come. Please pray God will draw many non-believers to attend to hear the true meaning of Christmas, give them understanding of the Gospel, and many will come forward at our altar call to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Please pray God’s protection on the recent new believers (Lam, Giang, Thuan, Rong, Cam) from any persecution/peer pressure that comes their way for becoming Christians. Please pray they will stand firm in their new faith and have the boldness to tell their non-believing family members and friends about Jesus.
Please pray God will raise up a pastor to oversee the Binh Chau Church and continue to mentor/teach Quang. We truly believe Quang has the heart and understanding of God’s Word to someday be the pastor of the church.
Please pray God will give us wisdom and discernment in our search for a new pastor.
Please lift Quang, Khanh , and Viet up before our Lord as they take on added responsibilities in serving the church. Please pray for God to give them each week a deeper spiritual understanding of His Word so they might grow in their ability to teach the congregation.
Please pray God will raise up a missionary/missionary couple to move to Tanh Linh to disciple all the new believers there and bring many more lost souls into His kingdom.
PRAISE REPORT
We praise God and thank you for your many prayers for Lan. She is completely recovered from her shingles and her heart condition has improved. God is returning her strength and she is gaining back some of her loss of weight. Lan was strong enough to sing during Sunday Worship as she praised her Heavenly Father.
ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING
Loan and Thien (from our orphanage/lovehouse) light the 1st candle of Advent.

Jesus in Vietnam Ministries, is a compassion ministry founded by Dennis and Mai Spencer. Vietnamese families suffer from deprivation, lacking sometimes even the necessities of life. In obedience to the many Scriptural commands to help the poor they are enabling families to survive in difficult circumstances. When shown mercy these families are very receptive to the Gospel. The Spencer’s also focus on children, who are the future church of Jesus Christ in Vietnam.
