GOD PROVIDES A THIRD

We have introduced both Quang and Khanh to you in our last 2 newsletters as young men who grew up in the Binh Chau Church, studied God’s Word, and now preaching at Sunday Worship until God provides a new pastor for the church. God has now raised up a third young man in Viet. He is currently serving as a deacon in the church and is the youngest of the 3 at 23 years old. Our first recollection of Viet was about 15 years ago when the pastor asked the kids at Children’s Church to explain a parable Jesus taught. Viet stood up and gave about a 10 minute detailed explanation that was perfect. We adults just looked at each other in amazement that a child so young had such an understanding of God’s Word. As Viet grew older so did his understanding of God’s Word. He became one of our youth leaders as a teenager. After graduating high school, Viet attended a trade school to learn how to repair motorcycles. During this time Viet was still involved in Children’s Church and taught the high school Bible class many Saturday nights. After a while on his first job, he was told he had to start working Sundays too. Viet said he couldn’t as he was a Christian and needed to attend church on Sunday. The owner didn’t care about that so Viet quit. He now works as a supervisor in a factory about 15 miles from Binh Chau. Viet works 6 days a week late into the evening so his time to serve in the church is limited now. However, he is always at Sunday Worship. In setting up the preaching schedule for October, we had Quang preaching 3 weeks and Khanh 1. The more we prayed about it, the more the Holy Spirit revealed to us we were overloading Quang as he has many other responsibilities in the church. We were led to ask Viet if his work schedule would permit him to preach on Sunday once a month. We were filled with joy when he said yes. Viet preached the last Sunday in October and the congregation loved him and his message. To God be the glory!

GIVING OPPORTUNITY

Please pray God will provide the funds to purchase a new/newer 12-seat van to replace our 1999 van and meet the growing needs of the church.

If God puts it in your heart to help us purchase this much needed van for the church and orphanage, please donate online at our website, jesusinvietnam.com or mail your check to our home address.

PRAISE REPORT

We want to thank each of you who gave generously to enable us to purchase new Bibles to be given away to all new believers. We now have plenty to cover our Christmas Outreaches this year and beyond. We so appreciate your timely response. We thank those of you who prayed with us for God to meet this need as He certainly answered your/our prayers.

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you.” I Thessalonians 3:9 (NIV)

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Construction on our 2nd orphanage/love house continues, but at a slower pace. We now have 2-3 working each day as they work on their specialty. First, the window installers, then, electricians, then, the plumbers, and now the cabinet makers. All the tile work has been completed and the ceiling fans/ac units have been installed. All the plumbing should be completed in a couple more days. Completion date now is by the end of November. We praise God for our contractor as he/they continues to do an excellent job.

LOAN THE EVANGELIST

We shared in our last newsletter how excited we were to see how God is working in our housemother, Loan’s, life. She befriended a couple who she buys dried fish from at the Binh Chau market. Last week she invited them to come to the church to learn about Jesus. Mai shared the Gospel and both Ngoc Han and her husband Nam asked Jesus into their heart. They then both came to Wednesday Night Prayer this week. Please pray God’s protection on them from persecution and He will give them a desire to start coming to Sunday Worship to grow in their walk with the Lord.

YOUTH EVANGELISM

10-11 of our youth continue to go out each Sunday afternoon to befriend kids on the street and share the Gospel. Recently, they shared Hieu, Han, and Thong. All 3 accepted Jesus and came to Children’s Church. However, the next week they didn’t. Apparently, their parents found out they came and told them they couldn’t go to the Christian church. Unfortunately, this happens far to often here. Please pray God’s protection on these 3 children and He will open the door for them to return to church

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray God will raise up a pastor to oversee the Binh Chau Church and continue to mentor/teach Quang. We truly believe Quang has the heart and understanding of God’s Word to someday be the pastor of the church.
Please pray God will give us wisdom and discernment in our search for a new pastor.

Please lift Quang, Khanh , and Viet up before our Lord as they take on added responsibilities in serving the church. Please pray for God to give them each week a deeper spiritual understanding of His Word so they might grow in their ability to teach the congregation.

Preparations are well under way for our Christmas Outreaches. Please pray God will put it in the heart of each person in the congregation (young to older) to start praying about at least one friend/family for them to invite to hear of God’s love for them. Please pray God will raise up the many volunteers needed to prepare the church/church property to be ready for our Christmas Outreaches.

Please pray for the children in our orphanage/love house as they have started back to school. They are usually the only Christian in their class. Please pray God’s protection on them and they won’t be influenced by their worldly classmates. Please pray they will stand firm in their faith and influence their classmates for Jesus.

As construction of our 2nd orphanage/love house is completed, please pray God will fill it with hurting children in need of growing up in a loving Christian family environment where they will learn of His great love. mercy, and grace for them through His Son Jesus and His Holy Word.

Please pray God will raise up a missionary/missionary couple to move to Tanh Linh to disciple all the new believers there and bring many more lost souls into His kingdom.

Thank you for your prayers for Lan as she is now back at home. Please continue to pray for her healing as she has lost a lot of weight and is very weak.
She still has nasty blisters covering most of one leg, which the doctor told her is from a virus (shingles?).

CHRISTMAS PREPARATIONS

We got an early start in putting up Christmas lights around the church property as we have many to install. The lights draw people to come by the church with their children to view. Please pray God will draw many to our Christmas Outreaches this year to hear the true meaning of Christmas, give them understanding of the Gospel, and many will ask Jesus into their heart.
