VBS CAMP 2022

The events of the last 2 years (pandemic, lockdowns, not able to attend Children’s Church, not able to do home visits, etc.) presented obstacles we had not faced in our previous 13 VBS Camps. The biggest challenge was getting children back to church after 2 years of not being able to attend in person. Then, would their parents feel comfortable enough to let them attend with covid still a concern among large groups. We give God all the praise and all the glory for removing each obstacle and blessing us with another wonderful VBS Camp this year where we were able to show and share the love of Jesus with His precious children. We had 52 children and over 20 adult volunteers who attended.

We thank each of you who lifted these children and our VBS Camp before our Heavenly Father in prayer and financially supported a child to attend. As always, the highlight of our VBS was when 4 children came forward during our altar call and asked Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior. To God be the glory!!

VBS EVANGELISM TRAINING

The focus of this year’s VBS was to share the Gospel with non-believers and strengthen the believing children’s knowledge of the Gospel so they are all better equipped to share Jesus with their non-believing family members, friends, and classmates. In a country where many gods are worshipped, we put special emphasis on showing God was the only one true living God. After the training, each student was given the opportunity to share part of the Gospel with their class and also in one on one conversations with each other.

VBS TRAINING PRODUCES FRUIT

Bao Ngoc, Mr. Hien’s daughter, immediately put her training into practice sharing Jesus with her friend, Ha, and inviting her to church at our Suoi Bang church plant where Ha asked Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior.

YOUTHS GIVING BACK AT VBS

We had several young adults who grew up attending Children’s Church return to serve at this year’s VBS Camp. Lan, who also lived in our orphanage/love house for 5 years, helped lead our worship, Quang and Ngoc assisted the class teachers, Xinh helped in the kitchen, and Hoa returned with her 2 young children to attend their first VBS. Quang and his wife, Nhu Y were so inspired serving at our VBS they signed up to attend Bible School classes in Saigon with Mr. Hien and Ngoc.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray God will strengthen the 4 children (and Ha) who accepted Jesus during VBS to be able to stand firm in their faith when persecution comes from their family or friends.

Please pray God will put a desire in the hearts of the non-believing children attending our VBS to start attending Children’s Church so they might grow in their walk with the Lord.

Please pray God will give us favor with the local officials to recognize our Suoi Bang church plant as a branch of the Binh Chau Church.

Please pray God will raise up a spiritual housemother for our orphanage/love house children.

Please pray God will grant us wisdom and discernment when to return to Vietnam later this year.

Please pray for God to provide the funds for a newer, more reliable van for the church and our orphanage.
