CHILDREN OF PROMISE

God has blessed us with 5 children currently living in our orphanage/love house (Thanh 14, Yen 11, An 11, Quoc 8, Anh Thu 5) in Binh Chau. They come from different backgrounds, but now have one thing in common, the love for Jesus. What a transformation we have witnessed God do in each of these children as they are shown and receive the love of Jesus each day in a Christian family environment. Over the last 3 years we have had the privilege of serving as house parents for several months and seen firsthand God working in their lives. They all get up Monday through Friday at 5 am, get ready for school, then have a time of Bible study and prayer. Pastor Luong, his wife Huong, and us (Mai and Dennis) take turns teaching them. The picture above shows Mai teaching them God’s Word recently via Skype from our home here in Tucson. Besides doing their chores around the orphanage, God has given them a heart to serve, whether it’s helping in the kitchen before Children’s Church or setting up the classrooms. God has also given each of these children a love for music and hearts to worship Him. They help lead Worship at Children’s Church and also sing during Sunday Worship (picture below). We thank God for all the joy He has given us to see Him working in these children’s lives. Please pray these children will grow up to be witnesses of His love and mercy and tell others about Jesus. Monthly expenses to provide the needs for these children to live in our orphanage runs $150 for each child. Most of these expenses are for food and tutoring for school (a requirement by the school system). This cost also provides clothing, medical, etc. for each child. We are still in need of $7,200 to cover the expenses for 2018. Please pray God will provide these needed funds for these precious children. MERCY MINISTRY

God gave us the opportunity to share Jesus with Hop (picture above) and her husband last fall. They both asked Jesus into their heart. Recently, we found out Hop had a miscarriage, but did not go to the hospital due to having no money to pay. Kim contacted her, took her to the hospital, and paid the hospital bill. We thank you for your faithful prayers and support that allow us to reach out with the love of Jesus to His children such as Hop.

VBS PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY

We have started planning for this summer’s VBS Camp, which will be held on July 3-5. We moved it back a month due to changes in the children’s school schedules this year. We thank God this will be our 11th year of holding our VBS Camp. We thank each of you who have prayed for and supported children to attend over these 11 years. God has used you to make such a difference in so many children’s lives all for His glory. We already have 104 children who have signed up to attend. This includes 10 children who will be traveling from Tan Hung, along with 5-6 adults who want to volunteer at VBS. Please pray God will draw many non-believers to faith in Jesus during this year’s VBS.

YEN THE EVANGELIST

We highlighted Yen (picture above) in one of our previous newsletters. To recap, Yen grew up in the Binh Chau Church, became one of our youth leaders, and moved to Saigon 2 years ago to attend college. God led her to a church in Saigon where she has been very involved with the church’s youth group. A few months ago she started going out with other youths to share the Gospel. Now, Yen is the leader of the Youth Evangelism Program in her church. Yen is going to bring her team to our VBS to help share the Gospel and help with the altar call. We are also going to see Yen/her team can spend a week at some time in Binh Chau going out on evangelism visits.
