GOD IS FAITHFUL

On the third day of VBS one of the brothers from Suoi Bang invited one of their neighbors to bring their children to VBS. The husband (Nang) and wife (Rut) showed up with their 2 children, Trai (11 year old son) and Gai (9 year old daughter). They are very poor farmers who do not even own a bike. Their children walk miles to school each day. Mai was able to talk to the parents and God gave Mai the opportunity to share the Gospel with them. Both Nang and Rut prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Later that day their children were participating in trying to find “Jesus” to win a bicycle. Mai and Fay spotted Gai and began to pray for the little girl to win a bike. God answered their prayers twofold, as not only the daughter won a bike, but the son also won a bike. Later that evening, both children also prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. What an awesome God we serve! Please keep this precious family in your prayers that God will give them a thirst and hunger to truly know Him and they will be good witnesses of His love for them to their family, friends, and neighbors.

BINH CHAU VBS 2011
What a blessing it was to be in Binh Chau with Dennis & Fay Peceniak, Jordan Vargo, Ashley Maddox, and our daughter, Cherée, for this 4th annual VBS. Each year God has brought more and more children to learn about Jesus and this year was no exception as 122 kids (ages 4-17) attended (picture above left). It was such a joy to see the smiles on their faces and excitement in their voices as they arrived. They came with their backpacks or bags filled with clothes as they would spend 3 days at the church. Activities started at 7am and ended each night around 9 pm, but the kids never seemed to run out of energy. After breakfast all the kids gathered for prayer and worship in the sanctuary. Then they were divided into age groups for Bible studies and crafts. We showed the “Jesus” movie one evening and had a bonfire the next night. One of the highlights was the search for hidden rocks (painted red to represent the saving blood of Jesus) with the verse John 3:16 attached to it. We planned to give away 30 bicycles, but ended up giving away 36 of them. The real blessing and purpose of VBS came on the third day as 33 children (picture above) came forward to ask Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior during the altar call. Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matt 19:14

TRULY A BLESSING
We thank God for touching all of your hearts to pray for and financially support the kitchen project over these last 3 years. God has blessed us with a wonderful kitchen. It was a joy to see the hardworking ladies of the church have a clean and sanitized place to prepare and cook all the meals for the kids (picture upper right).
They were so happy and grateful to have countertops, stoves, and sinks to work with instead of hard concrete floors. These ladies worked long and hard for 3 days, but each with a big smile on their face. On the Sunday after VBS we (the JIV team) prepared and cooked lunch (under Mai’s direction) for all the ladies and other volunteers who served at the VBS. They kept wanting to help as they said they were there to serve us, but we were the ones who were blessed to serve them (even though we all came away with a few burns and cuts).
Not only are we blessed with a wonderful kitchen, but it doubles as a multi-purpose room where children’s Bible studies can be held. Even Children’s Church can be held inside it. Plus, it is large enough to accommodate a daycare center in the future as God opens that door for us. “For if, by the trespass of one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through one man, Jesus Christ.” Rom 5:17

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for the 33 children who prayed to receive Christ and their parents that God’s protection would be on them and they would get connected with the church.

Please pray for the 4 adults who prayed to receive Christ during the VBS that God would give them a hunger and thirst to receive His Word.

Please pray for God to raise up more laymen to serve in leadership in the Binh Chau church.

Please pray the children of God in the church will hunger for His Word.

Please pray God will provide the funds to purchase 20 pews for the Binh Chau church.
