JESUS IN VIETNAM MINISTRIES

MAKING DISCIPLES

We have been expressing this last year with the Binh Chau church leadership the importance of discipling those who pray to receive Christ so they might grow in their walk with the Lord and develop a servant’s heart. We have increased the number of discipleship classes and made the times and days more flexible to accommodate and encourage more people to attend. We implemented a scripture memorization program last year that was very successful. Recently, Elder Nhan started a program at Wednesday night Bible study where he gives the class an overall view of certain scriptures. Then he assigns the class to read and meditate several times during the coming week over these scriptures. Then, when they return the next week for Bible study, each person is given 3-5 minutes to share with the class what God has revealed to them about those scriptures. In the picture above, Thanh is reciting her scriptures and sharing with the class. Elder Nhan reports that this program has been well received and the people (youth and adults) really enjoy being able to participate and share what God has put in their heart.

BA QUANG FRUIT
Recently, God rewarded the faithfulness and obedience of Mr. and Mrs. Ba Quang with the first fruit of their ministry. Mrs. Ba Quang witnessed to a co-worker where she works out in the banana fields. Mrs. Ba Quang shared many times with this lady how much God has blessed her and her family and changed her husband so drastically. This lady, not only heard about God’s love and mercy, but she could visually see the changes that took place. Mrs. Ba Quang asked permission for the church to visit them to share the Gospel. The lady said yes and Elder Nhan went with Mr. and Mrs. Ba Quang to the lady’s home. Her entire family was at home and God gave them a divine appointment. Elder Nhan was able to share the Gospel and all 5 family members (husband, wife, and 3 children in picture above) prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Mr. and Mrs. Ba Quang report that this family is very humble and have been very faithful in attending church since they were born again.

In addition, Elder Nhan was able to hold the first baptisms from the Ba Quang church plant. A family of 4 and the picture above shows Elder Nhan baptizing the wife/mother in this precious family. Please pray that God will continue to build His church one family at a time in Ba Quang.

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

2 years ago a family from Ba Quang let their 2 children attend VBS. This was a very poor family and their kids were so sweet. The kids were searching for a rock painted red representing the blood of Jesus. The kids that found the rocks and memorized the scripture attached to it would be rewarded with a bike. Mai and Fay both prayed that one of these 2 children would get a bike. In God’s providence, both children found rocks and were awarded bikes. During the VBS both children prayed to receive Christ. Recently, Mr. Ba Quang invited the Binh Chau church leadership to visit this family in Ba Quang. After hearing the Gospel, the parents of these 2 children also prayed to receive Christ. The church discovered that this family had purchased a very small piece of land and had money to start building a house, but not enough to finish it. We just received a love gift from a donor to be used for the Ba Quang church plant. Through the Mercy Ministry of the Binh Chau church we were then able to buy roofing materials for the house to be completed. The picture above shows the start of the framework for the house.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray that God will open the door and provide the funds for another building to be built on the church property to meet the physical and spiritual needs of so many hurting children.

Please pray that God’s protection will be on the Binh Chau church and the Ba Quang church plant.

Please pray that God will give us wisdom and discernment in any future meetings with Caesar.

Please pray that the parents of the children signed up to attend VBS will allow them all to attend.

Please pray that God will raise up many adults in the Binh Chau church to serve during this year’s VBS.
PRAISE REPORT
We have sponsors for all 147 kids signed up for VBS. Plus, we received donations to purchase several bikes to be given away as rewards for memorizing scriptures. We will have 6 leaders from Saigon, plus Elder Nhan and Elder Tu, teaching classes for 5 age groups. Please pray God will use this VBS to draw many to Him.
