CHANGING ONE LIFE AT A TIME FOR CHRIST

Mai led Tu Song to Christ about 2 years ago and shortly afterwards her 6 kids also came to Christ. Her husband was very upset about them becoming Christians and began harassing/abusing them whenever he returned from the sea.Tu Song left him and picked up trash to provide food for her family, but her husband continued the abuse. Tu Song came to Mai and asked Mai to pray that her husband would find another woman to marry so he would leave them alone. Mai told her no that we needed to pray for God to rescue his soul. Three days later Tu Song’s husband died at sea. One of the sons, Tuong (picture below) is 12years old and had been very rebellious, but he started hanging around us and a very sweet nature began to emerge. In a

MAI PRAYING WITH TRUONG

few days we saw God totally change Tuong’s attitude and heart. You could see the joy in his eyes as God lifted the pain from Tuong and replaced it with love, peace, and laughter. Tuong won a bike at VBS and would ride it about 3 miles to the church early each morning and spend the day with us (and several nights). One day he was soaking wet from a heavy rain, but didn’t want to go home to change in fear he wouldn’t be able to come back. Needless to say, we found dry clothes for him. Tuong is one of the many examples where God is using your prayers and support to change one “Tuong” at a time. Cam On Chua!

PRAY FOR HEALING

The story of Dung (lady in purple picture below) will break your heart. Dung was raped 8 years ago, and as a result gave birth

to a baby girl. Then later she was raped by her father and gave birth to another baby girl. Outcast and humiliated, Dung became the mistress of a man for shelter and food for herself and her 2 girls. During this relationship Dung gave birth to a third baby girl. The father of this child provides rent for Dung and her 3 girls for a house about the size of a one car garage. Dung works 2 jobs just to provide food and clothing for the family. She can’t afford to pay for a babysitter, so she has to lock her girls in the house while she’s at work. The house has one small window with bars on it and the girls stick their heads up to the bars and say hello to people that walk by. Dung lives by Mrs. Si, a member of the church. Mai visited Mrs. Si and then went next door to visit Dung. God gave Mai the opportunity to share the Gospel and Dung prayed to receive Jesus. She has been very faithful in attending church with her girls. The church has helped this family with food/ clothing from the funds you provide. Dung found out recently she has cancer and is very concerned what will happen to her girls if she does not survive.

GOD’S PERFECT TIMING

Last week Truc (dark blue shirt below) came to Mr. Ba Phuoc’s house to hear about Jesus.

TRUC PRAYING TO RECEIVE JESUS

Truc told the sad story of his wife taking their 3 kids and running off with another man 2 years ago. Since then he has been in a deep depression living day to day, not finding work, and usually eating every other day. He was about to go join and live in the Buddha temple when someone told him about the Christian church and recent VBS. They told him these Christians are very kind and compassionate. They showed him where one of these Christians lived (Mr. Ba Phouc). Mr. Ba Phouc called Elder Nhan and other church members from the visitation teams to come over. They were able to share the Gospel with Truc and he prayed to ask Jesus into his heart as his personal lord and Savior.

VBS SUMMARY

*30-35 ADULT VOLUNTEERS
