A NEW GENERATION FOR CHRIST

A NEW GENERATION FOR CHRIST
Does God use our (yours/us) prayers and financial support to change the hearts of His precious children? The picture to the left demonstrates this as Daniel, Giang, and even little Timothy (6 months old) close their eyes in prayer/praise to the Lord. We are truly blessed that our Father in Heaven allows us the joy to experience and be involved in these precious children’s lives to raise up a new generation to show the love of Jesus. These children need to be educated so God can use them to impact different areas of society when they grow up, but many of the parents of these kids do not have the money to send them to school. We currently have 41such children in the Binh Chau church and have found sponsors for 15. When Kim went to sign up these 15 kids for school the school officials were amazed that our small church had such a program to help the children and praised God. The cost of sending one of these children to school for a whole year is only $110. If God touches your heart to sponsor one of these little ones, please email us at [email protected] for more information.

PRAY FOR THE CHURCH SIGN
After we returned from Binh Chau the end of June, Kim was visited at the Binh Chau church by Caesar officials (local, province, state). They were very cordial and complimentary towards the church stating we did a lot of good for the community and the children. They also stated they appreciated the fact that we did what we had petitioned to do. Towards the end of the meeting, a state official told Kim the province had made a mistake 2 years ago when officially recognizing us as a church. He stated their law requires that a place to worship be in existence for at least 20 years before it can be recognized as a church. He requested

BINH CHAU CHURCH SIGN

[that the church change their sign (picture to right) to read “a gathering place” instead of a church.
Kim stated God had put that sign up and the church could not take it down. The official stated they would get back with her. Last week Kim was summoned to another meeting. Kim called us to pray about it and get our guidance. We told Kim to stand firm and politely tell them she couldn’t because God had opened the door for the sign to go up 2 years ago. Also, they were not only dealing with God, but a congregation of over 100 people now. We also told Kim to ask them how this could be resolved without changing the sign. Kim met with the officials again stating the church’s position. They told Kim they would discuss and meet with her in 10 days. Please pray.

FRUITS OF OUR LABOR
God has been blessing the Binh Chau church with the fruit of their labor of holding VBS and the recent EE clinic. Many homes of the children that prayed to receive Jesus during VBS were visited by the EE OJT teams, resulting in many of these children’s parents also praying to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God is drawing many of these families to the church, resulting in higher attendance at Sunday Worship, Saturday night Children’s Church (picture upper left with well over 50 kids eating before Children’s Church), Bible studies, and prayer night.
“Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him.” Psalm 147:1

Pastor Tim Laycock from Desert Son Community Church, where Jordan Vargo attends, gave Jordan and us 45 minutes during each of their 3 Worship services (1 on Saturday night and 2 on Sunday morning) last weekend to share about our trip to Binh Chau. Jordan, Dennis, Fay, Cherée, Mai, and I (Dennis) all took part in the presentation. We all spoke how the trip impacted our lives and Mai also got to share about her book. The Holy Spirit was present and we were all blessed as God received all the glory. 3 members of the congregation sponsored 4 children for school. Mai was also able to do a book signing there. PRAYER REQUESTS
*Please pray that God will continue to draw more of these new believers to Him and get them connected with the church.

*Please pray that God will give His church favor concerning the sign and Caesar will fear God in making their decision.

*Please pray that God will grant Kim His peace during these meetings with Caesar.

*Please pray for God to raise up a pastor and more laymen to serve in leadership in the Binh Chau church.

*Please pray that God will raise up sponsors for the remaining 26 children who need funds to attend school this year.

*Please pray that God will open the door for us to find someone to translate the Book of John Bible study for the Binh Chau church.

PRAISE REPORT
We thank God for all of you who responded so quickly to help the young boy, Hien, who was severely injured 3 weeks ago and needed life saving surgery. Hien is recovering and his family is praising God (see story next page).

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
