WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE

Over the last 3 years as the number of kids attending Saturday night Children’s Church (45-55) and Vacation Bible School (120 last year) continued to grow, God put it in our heart the desire to see the ladies, who so tirelessly cook out in the sun and humidity each week, have a proper kitchen to prepare/cook the kid’s meals. We thank God for the many of you who have prayed and financially contributed to the kitchen project over this time. Mai went to Vietnam with the needed funds, only to find out due to inflation, that we were still $7,000 short. As we prayed about what to do, we were reminded how God’s hand has been on the Binh Chau church since He gave Mai the vision to plant it over 20 years

ago. So we started construction (picture to the left) believing that God would provide the additional funds over the next 2 months. Nancy Lupo put out a prayer request, and God was certainly listening, as we received $8,000 within 2 weeks. Cam On Chua –Thank you, Jesus! We are so thankful, and humbled, by the blessings that our Heavenly Father continues to shower upon His church in Binh Chau for His Glory.

BREAKING OF A CURSE
The church went to visit a family about 3 weeks ago and God opened the door for them to share the Gospel. The father, Kim, his wife Kieu, and their 2 children all prayed to receive Jesus. On a return visit recently the church found out that Kieu had been very sick. Hiep (Mai’s sister), who is a nurse, gave her 3 bags of IV. The next day Kieu was able to get out of bed for the first time in almost 3 weeks. Hiep said she was very dehydrated from lack of water/food Later, they took her to the hospital where the doctor said she would have died shortly without immediate treatment While they were visiting the house; Mai noticed that it was full of idols, even though the family had accepted Christ. When asked why the church had not discussed this with them, she was told that Caesar tells people that Christians will throw away your gods and make you follow theirs. So the church is hesitant to teach about this. Mai said how will they know it’s wrong unless we (the church) explain to them what the Bible says about idols. Through several scriptures, Mai gave the family God’s view on idols. Then Mai stated they should pray and ask God to give them direction. A couple of days later the family gave Elder Nhan a letter requesting the church help them

MORE ANSWERED PRAYERS
The last picture below shows Mai with Elder Nhan and the new Youth Pastor, Tu. Tu lives in Long Bien, about 35 miles from Binh Chau. He is currently an Assistant Pastor at a church there. He is willing to move to Binh Chau as soon as his pastor finds someone to replace him (up to 6 months). During that time, Tu will travel to Binh Chau each Saturday to help with Children’s Church. Tu is 28 years old, single, has some seminary training, and plays the guitar.

Mai was able to visit with Mrs. Lu, the prime minister, and Mr. Tu Don, religious matters, in their homes. They were very friendly towards Mai. Mrs. Lu said she told the state/province to let the church build their kitchen because they do good work and it will look good for the town of Binh Chau. Mr. Tu Don (who threatened to put Mai in jail in 2005) told her he believes God has a purpose for everyone, but it’s just not his time yet. God is certainly tugging at his heart.

Mr. Sau Cong (Suoi Bang) is “on fire” for the Lord. He is very bold in sharing the Gospel, even to the mayor (didn’t accept Christ, but did ask for a Bible). Mr. Sau Cong was questioned by Caesar and told them, “even if you shoot me, I will not leave my Jesus”. Caesar will probably fire him from his job soon. God is using Mr. Sau Cong to bring souls to him almost every day.

2. Please pray that construction of the kitchen
will go smoothly within budget and God will
use this facility for His glory.

3. Please pray that God ‘s protection will be on
Mr. Sau Cong and God will open the door
for a house church to be planted in Suoi

4. Please pray that God will open the door
soon for Tu to come to Binh Chau to serve in
the church full time.

will be glorified.
