CHRISTMAS OUTREACHES 2017

“We praise you God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful works.” Psalm 75:1

We do praise our Lord and give Him thanks for giving us our best and most fruitful Christmas Evangelistic Outreaches this year (of the last 10 years we have been holding our Christmas Outreaches). It gives us such joy to report, not only did God give us the most people in attendance (350+) we have ever had, but God touched and softened people’s hearts to draw 78 people to ask Jesus into their heart as their personal Lord and Savior. What an Awesome God we serve! About 3 weeks before Christmas during a prayer meeting we asked God to draw many people to Him through our Christmas Outreaches. Someone asked for a specific number to pray for and Mai shouted out 70. Mai said God put it in her heart 7 had to be part of the number and 70 would truly give God all the glory, as it would be more than double the number of any past Christmas Outreach. We spent the next 3 weeks encouraging the children at Children’s Church and the adults at Sunday Worship to be intentional in inviting their non-believing family and friends to our Christmas “birthday party”. And, to let them know they didn’t even have to bring a gift. In fact, the person whose birthday we would be celebrating might possible give them the “greatest gift they could ever receive!” God certainly honored our prayers as 51 children (picture above) gave their heart to the Lord at our Youth Outreach and 17 (picture below) people accepted Jesus at our Family Outreach. Plus, in the few days leading up to our Christmas Outreaches, God used Mai to lead 10 more people to Christ, resulting in a total of 78 professions of faith for the Christmas season. Cam On Chua! (Thank You Lord!).

Our youth leaders, not only did a great job in inviting their friends, but gave a wonderful performance putting on a Christmas play about the birth of Jesus (picture above), singing in the choir, and helping out in many other areas of the 2 outreaches. We gave around 200 children Christmas gifts (picture below) and served fellowship meals after each outreach. Many of the adults who came to our Family Christmas Outreach ended up sitting outside (either due to lack of space inside the sanctuary or their choice to not sit in the church), but they all were still able to hear the program and see parts of it from the doorways. This gave us the idea of holding everything outside next year. This would allow us to hold one Christmas Outreach for both children and adults, plus invite many more people as we are limited now by the size of the sanctuary. More to come about that idea in the coming weeks.

GOD IS SO GOOD

The electricity went off about 10 minutes into our Sunday Worship Service on the morning of Christmas Eve. We thank God for providing the generator for us 3 years ago that we used all day to make final preparations for the Family Christmas Outreach that evening. Plus, a tropical storm heading our way was to bring a lot of rain on Christmas Eve, but God held off the rain until well after our Christmas Outreach was over. Then, the bulk of the storm missed us completely.

TAN HUNG CHRISTMAS VISIT

Our brothers and sisters in Christ from Tan Hung spent 4 days with us. Plus, they brought 12 non-believers with them. Praise God as they all asked Jesus into their heart, except the bus driver. This gives us over 30 Christians in the town of Tan Hung now (without a Christian church there). These folks are so thirsty for God’s Word. One young man (in his 30’s), Binh, even wants to go to Bible College so he can disciple them. Please pray God will provide a pastor or evangelist willing to go to Tan Hung to disciple these new believers, and also provide the funds to support him.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray God will give Pastor Luong and his wife, Huong, favor with the congregation and use them mightily to bring many to faith in Christ.

Please pray for God’s protection from persecution for the 78 people who asked Jesus into their heart during this Christmas season.

Please pray the church visiting and witnessing teams will be faithful in visiting these new Christians and encourage them to attend Children’s Church and/or Sunday Worship so they might grow in their walk with the Lord.

PRAISE REPORT
What a joyous blessing to see God at work in so many people’s lives over Christmas (and our last 8 months here). We are truly humbled that God allows us to be a small part of His work here. We thank and appreciate each of you so much who faithfully pray and support for God’s work here in Vietnam (and for us). Take joy in knowing God is using you to change people’s lives for All eternity. To God be the glory!

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:9
