ANOINTING OF PASTOR NHAN AS SENIOR PASTOR

PASTOR NHAN OF THE BINH CHAU CHURCH

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW! We thank God for answered prayers as He gave us a glorious day, as Nhan was ordained as Senior Pastor of the Binh Chau Church on December 14th. Every detail of the Ordination Service went off flawlessly. A group of pastors from Saigon and other towns in this region came to participate and celebrate with Pastor Nhan and his wife, Phuc. We were originally told 5 or 6 pastors had agreed to attend, but we actually had 14 or 15 come. We (Dennis and Mai) were honored and humbled when asked by the lead pastor to join some of the pastors in laying hands on Nhan and Phuc and praying for them (picture above) as he anointed Nhan as the Senior Pastor of the Binh Chau Church. We were excited that most of the congregation of the Binh Chau Church and our Suoi Bang house church plant took time off from work to attend. Afterwards we had a fellowship meal at the church and then most of the pastors went to Pastor Nhan’s house to encourage him and pray for him in his call as Senior Pastor to oversee God’s work here in Binh Chau.

PASTOR NHAN WITH SANG AND HONG

1st CHRISTIAN WEDDING

Thao and Hang from Tan Thang, who have been members of the Binh Chau Church for the last few years (along with 10 of their children/grandchildren), had one of their daughters get married this month. Hong (bride) has been a Christian for about 3 years, but works in Saigon and does not attend church due to her job obligations. Sang (groom) was a non-believer whom Hong brought to the Binh Chau Church a few weeks ago. The Gospel was shared and Sang asked Jesus into his heart. Pastor Nhan met with them for several weeks for pre-marriage counseling. During that time both Hong and Sang were baptized at the Binh Chau Church. Thao and Hang wanted them to have a true Christian wedding and both Hong and Sang agreed. Instead of having it in a reception hall, they agreed to be married in Thao/Hang’s backyard. We believe it is the very first Christian wedding that has taken place in Tan Thang. There were around 200 people in attendance (160-165 non-believers) to witness the ceremony. At weddings here they play worldly music at a very high decimal, but we were able to play Christian songs to those present before the wedding and during the reception afterwards. Pastor Nhan did an excellent job in conducting his first wedding and Hong and Sang made a lovely couple (picture above). Please pray God will draw this young couple to Him and give them a hunger to know Him more deeply.

WRAPPING GIFTS FOR ALL THE CHILDREN

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH UPDATE

All preparations for our 3 Christmas Evangelistic Outreaches are on schedule. The first one is scheduled on December 22nd in Suoi Bang, followed by two at the Binh Chau Church on December 24th (families) and December 26th (children only). We moved the Children’s Christmas Outreach to Saturday, as all the kids will be in school here on Christmas Day. Kim has been busy shopping and her team busy wrapping (picture above) all the gifts to be given out during the 3 outreaches. All the children attending will be given a gift consisting of candy, cookies, school supplies, and Gospel tracts. Plus, all of our Children’s Church kids will receive a set of new clothes (picture below). We plan on giving out Christmas gifts to over 200 children and feeding over 400 people as part of our 3 Christmas Outreaches this year. We thank God for each of you who have prayed for and financially supported our ministry so these Christmas Outreaches may be held.

CLOTHING FOR THE CHILDREN FOR CHRISTMAS

Please pray God will use each of these Christmas Evangelistic Outreaches to reveal Jesus as the reason we celebrate Christmas and many will ask Jesus into their heart.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders, and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray God will give us wisdom and discernment as we seek His guidance in finding a youth pastor to serve at the Binh Chau Church to help Elder Nhan.

Please pray God will provide someone to oversee the Children of Promise as He fills it with His children.

Please pray God will provide a local Vietnamese missionary family to oversee the Suoi Bang church plant.

Please pray God will raise up sponsors to support the children living in our (His) orphanage/love house.

PRAISE REPORT

Many of the pastors who came for Pastor Nhan’s ordination service commented how God’s work here in Binh Chau was truly a miracle of God. That it’s unheard of here in Vietnam for a house church to have an actual church building with a sign declaring it a church. We praise God for giving us such favor and we thank you for your prayers and support, as He has used them all for His glory.

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you”. 1 Thessalonians 3:9
