CHILDREN OF PROMISE

NEW SCHOOL YEAR STARTS
We praise God and thank each one of you who sponsored a child for school this year. We have a total of 76 children, who attend Children’s Church at the Binh Chau Church, attending school now due to your prayers and support. Cam On Chua! (Thank You Lord!). Kim has been very busy this past month personally registering the children in schools in Binh Chau, Suoi Bang, Tan Thang, Cau Ngoc Mang, and Teo Neo. What a blessing to see this part of our ministry grow and these precious children have the privilege of getting an education. Without your help, most of these children would not be in school. Each year as Kim registers all the children she receives comments to what a wonderful thing the church is doing in helping all these children. God has used this program, not only to provide these children an education, but also to give us favor with the government as they see the love of Jesus being poured out to God’s precious children. The picture above shows 2 of these children (Viet and Yen) arriving at their school in Binh Chau. Please pray each of these children will be a good witness of God’s love.

GOD EXPANDS HIS KINGDOM

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
We are seeing fruit from the Children’s Birthday Evangelistic Outreach held each month. We have a birthday celebration every month at Children’s Church for the kids who had a birthday that month. Each of the “birthday” kids is encouraged to bring one of their non-believing friends with them to help them celebrate. Last month 5 of the non-believers who attended (picture above) prayed to ask Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior. Plus, 3 of these kids have been attending Children’s Church in the weeks since. Please pray God will use this outreach to bring many more to belief in His Son and get them connected to the church.

IN THE LOVING ARMS OF HIS SAVIOR

HOME WITH THE LORD
We just learned that God has taken one of our precious children home. Tien, 18 years old (picture above) was killed at sea when the fishing boat he was working on was struck by lighting during a storm and sunk. Tien grew up in the Binh Chau Church over the last 8 years. We remember when he was about 10 years old he made a cross out of aluminum foil, attached it to a piece of string, and wore it as a necklace to let everyone know he loved Jesus. Tien knew God’s Word and at the age of 15 became the leader of our Youth EE teams who went out each Sunday afternoon to share the Gospel with kids on the streets. We hadn’t seen much of Tien this year as he was out to sea most of the time, but he remained in our heart.

STUDYING GOD’S PRECIOUS WORD

SUOI BANG CHURCH PLANT
God continues to expand our outreach to Suoi Bang as He brings more people/families to belief in Jesus. The most recent to ask Jesus into her heart was the wife of a government official. Praise the Lord! We now have 3 families in Suoi Bang who have offered their homes for the church to meet in each week. We rotate from one home to the next. Elder Nhan holds a Sunday evening Worship Service, a Tuesday Discipleship study, and a Thursday night prayer service each week in Suoi Bang (picture above). Please pray God will provide a Vietnamese missionary family to oversee the Suoi Bang church plant.

CASTING OUT OF EVIL SPIRITS

CASTING AWAY IDOLS
Mr./Mrs. Hai Soi live in the far outskirts of Suoi Bang about 45 minutes from the Binh Chau Church. Three years ago they allowed their daughter, Hoa Bien, to attend our VBS, where she accepted Jesus. Then God drew her parents to belief in Jesus and they have been faithful since in attending the Binh Chau Church. However, when Mai visited their house this summer they still had 7 different idols in their house for fear of persecution from family and neighbors if they took them down. Mai shared again what God’s Word says about idols in our lives. They said they would pray about it. The picture above shows Elder Nhan and Mr. Ba Phuoc praying over the house after ALL idols were removed!

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray God will give us wisdom and discernment as we seek His guidance in finding a youth pastor to serve at the Binh Chau Church to help Elder Nhan.

Please pray God will provide someone to oversee the Children of Promise as He fills it with His children.

Please pray for unity of heart, mind, and spirit among the brothers and sisters in Suoi Bang, especially for Mr. Ba Quang, who has been under the enemy’s attack.

Please pray for Tien’s mother (Thien) as he was her only child. She accepted Jesus years ago, but left the church a few months ago. Pleae pray God will use this tragedy to bring her back to her first love for Jesus.

Please pray for God’s wisdom, discernment, and strength for us as we prepare to return to Vietnam on Sept 28th for the rest of the year.

We thank you for your prayers and support that enables us to serve God in Vietnam.

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you”.
1 Thessalonians 3:9
