JESUS IN VIETNAM MINISTRIES

NO MORE ROOM ON THE INN

Mai reports with much excitement that God’s hand continues to be on the Binh Chau church, especially with all the children. Saturday Children’s Church has increased dramatically since last June’s Vacation Bible School. We feed and have worship, prayer, and Bible study with 80-90 kids each Saturday night. Due to the growth, we have had to go from 3 up to 5 classes now for the Bible studies. Two of these classes have to meet outside (picture above of Elder Nhan teaching the new believer’s class from Teo Neo) and battle the mosquitoes and the weather. We are in need of more classroom space. Mai was able to meet with the contractor who built the church and kitchen for us in Binh Chau. She shared our plans with him, but he requested we re-draw them in Vietnamese. Mai asked him if he could give us an estimate based on the square footage of the building we would like to see constructed. The approximate cost he gave us was in the $75,000 range. Please join us in prayer that God will provide the funds in His perfect timing for this additional building for classrooms and other needed works (O).

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH

The church has been busy with preparations for the Christmas Outreach to be held on December 22nd. The ladies (picture above) have been busy wrapping all the children’s Christmas gifts. We deeply thank all of you who contributed funds for the gifts. Each child in the church and any non-believing children who attend will receive a gift. We have a well known Christian singing group of 15-20 youths coming from Saigon. They will put on a Christmas concert. Afterwards, Elder Nhan will share the true meaning of Christmas and then give an altar call. Snacks and beverages will be served after the service. The members of the Binh Chau church are going to distribute 300 invitations to the Christmas Outreach Service. Each non- believer attending will be given several tracts including Evangelism Explosion, Christianity for Vietnamese, and Honor your Father and Mother (Vietnamese are told Christians will have them dishonor their ancestors in becoming Christians and this explains through the Bible how they can still honor their parents without the altars). A special offering was asked for un the Binh Chau church and $2,500,000VN ($125US) was given to purchase these tracts. Please pray God will use this outreach to reveal Himself to many of these non-believers.

MINISTRY NOTES

Please pray for the following youths who will serve as the Binh Chau Church Youth Leaders for 2013:
Khanh – President
Ky – Vice-President & Visitation Leader
Giang Sinh – Secretary
Hoa – Treasurer
Yen – EE Leader & Outside Liaison
Thao – Assistant EE Leader

Khanh and Ky are also teaching the kids that aren’t able to sit through Sunday Worship in a Sunday School class now. Khanh does most of the teaching and Ky makes sure they are paying attention.

In an answer to prayer, the door has now been opened to set up some of the ladies in church with a way to help support their families. We purchased a bike with a fruit cart attached behind it for Laon. She buys fruit and takes it to a school to sell to the students during lunch.
We are in the process of buying a food cart for Hue to use to sell soups in. We purchased a sewing machine for Linh to use (picture above center) so she can learn a trade and provide for herself and her little brother Viet.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord”. Psalm 150:6

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray that God will open the door and provide the funds for another building to be built on the church property to meet the physical and spiritual needs of so many hurting children.

Please pray that God will open the door for house churches to be planted in S.B. and T.T.
in His perfect timing.

Please pray that God will use the Christmas Outreach to draw many to Him

IN THE WORD

We had 8 faithful people (2 adults/6 youth) who completed the “In the Word” scripture memorizations. They were challenged the beginning of the year to memorize 100 Bible scriptures. They recited their scriptures before the church leadership. The top 3 were to be given fully decorated Christmas trees as a reward, but they all did so good, that they all received a tree (picture above).

Neighborhood Visits

Elder Nhan, Elder Tu, Kim, and Mai have been visiting all the neighbors around the Binh Chau church. They reached out with the love of Jesus and were well received. Mai has encouraged the church leadership to continue to visit them.

About This Site

Jesus in Vietnam Ministries, is a compassion ministry founded by Dennis and Mai Spencer. Vietnamese families suffer from deprivation, lacking sometimes even the necessities of life. In obedience to the many Scriptural commands to help the poor they are enabling families to survive in difficult circumstances. When shown mercy these families are very receptive to the Gospel. The Spencer’s also focus on children, who are the future church of Jesus Christ in Vietnam. Watch The Video About Jesus In Vietnam Ministries Here
